My shop is located in Albany NY, a stone's throw from the Northeast's best trout, bass, pike, salmon, and laker hotspots, and the center of some of the wildest springtime striper action in the country.
I’m primarily a trout and salmon guy, but I service all types of fishing reels - baitcasting, spinning, saltwater, level-wind trolling, and fly reels. Reel service starts with a complete tear-down, inspection, and cleaning of all the parts, followed by a careful lubrication with hi-tech reel grease and oils. All reels are put on a rod and tested before they go back to you. Don't forget about your classic and heirloom reels that have been collecting dust - getting those oldtimers back out on the water is one of my specialties.
Rod repairs include guide and tip replacement, rewrapping, reel seat and grip repair and replacement, and rod refinishing for casting, spinning, trolling, and fly rods. I can refit your rods with new guide layouts that will outperform the original setup, and put on new grips and seats that will fit your hand like a glove.
My custom rods are precision, no-nonsense, zero-gimmick fishing instruments built to fit your hand and your specific fishing conditions, unlike generically-made brand name rods. A well-made custom rod will outshine a comparable off-the-shelf factory rod on every front, and at a very reasonable price.
